Starting The Virginia Paranormal Case Files
There are many who don't understand the reality of conducting paranormal research. They watch the TV shows and this forms their opinion of what occurs during a paranormal investigation. I've had many request to join our organization and only last one investigation. Not because of the activity, but because they were seeking the thrill that has been portrayed in the media. The uncontrolled locations such as the desolate haunted roads and the 19th century buildings do have a certain thrill to them, but much of this sensation can be lent to the atmosphere, not the spirits that linger behind. Sometimes however, there is something mysterious lurking beyond the flashlight's beam. I've certainly had my share of experiences at such locations and have always felt drawn to them. Perhaps it was the desire to bring the shadows to light or the mystery of the unknown. However, the calls for help from private citizens drew us from those dark roads to well-lit living rooms.
The residential locations offer a completely different atmosphere. They're not out in the elements surrounded by shadows, but they are peoples' homes. They are often warm and welcoming with little evidence of paranormal activity at first glance. These cases however, can be the most interesting. Such cases are real reports from real people who have something unexplained interfering with their everyday lives. Upon responding to these calls we found that we were able to use our passion to help others. We still travel haunted roads and explore eerie locations every chance we get, but our time is primarily consumed by traveling throughout Virginia and the surrounding states answering those calls for help.
Last year I began releasing a series of videos called, "Virginia Paranormal Case Files." This series documents our residential cases and shows the reality of paranormal investigation. My goal is to show viewers how we conduct investigations, analyze evidence, and also to let people know they are not alone when dealing with something they believe is supernatural. Many have the misconception that we are out to prove ghosts exist. To the contrary, the first thing we try to do is find rational explanations for the reported activity. Many times there is little or no evidence of a haunting. This doesn't necessarily mean that the activity is all in the client's head. Spirits, in the sense that we believe in them, have minds of their own. They won't manifest on command and if they don't want to be found, they can remain undetected. There's nothing an investigator can do to force them to appear. If we could, then their existence wouldn't be a question. The fact is, there are strange things out there. They may come from another realm, out of the skies, or from beyond the grave. Residents are experiencing the impact of these anomalies and seeking help. In our effort to investigate these reports and help our clients, we have compiled the Virginia Paranormal Case Files and continue to release them to the public. There's no script, no actors, just genuine investigations into these claims from real people.
